The Healing Encounter is a workshop for believers to receive teaching and prayer for healing of life’s hurts. The goal is to enable each participant to receive freedom to walk in the fullness of their calling and destiny. Open Door has been presenting the Healing Encounter since 2003 for our own members and for members of other churches. We have even assisted other churches in establishing their own Healing Encounter for their church and city.

Who should attend?

We believe everyone would benefit going through the Healing Encounter. You are a perfect candidate if:
 

• You are learning to walk with Jesus, but find yourself tripping over your past.
• You are having a difficult time forgiving yourself or someone else.
• You sometimes react to situations out of fear.
• You are at the end of your rope, spiritually, and the striving has you feeling exhausted.
• You are often confused, frustrated or anxious.
• You are finding it difficult to break a recurrent sin problem.
• You are having a difficult time with those closest to you.

What is the format?

The workshop sessions are a combination of teaching and personal ministry. The Heart Topics include: The Blessing, Forgiveness, Sins of Our Ancestors, Judgments, Inner Vows, Ungodly Beliefs and Demonic Oppression.

Each participant is paired with a sponsor who provides personal prayer ministry after each topic is taught. This involves appropriating what Jesus did for them in each of the areas mentioned above.

The sponsors and teachers are people who have been through several Healing Encounters and have been trained in hearing the Holy Spirit and in Prayer Ministry.

Where, when and cost?

Open Door hosts Healing Encounters every other month on the third weekend of the month. See the Events Section with the calendar of the website for current dates. The Healing Encounter begins on a Friday night at 6:30 pm with dinner and goes until 10:00 pm. It resumes on Saturday morning at 8:45 am with breakfast and continues until 5:00 pm. We serve lunch and provide snacks and drinks during each session. Each participant is given a notebook with lessons and prayer strategies to keep “walking it out” and gain more freedom.
